When will the Parent Portal for my school go live?  How will the parent get their passwords?

Answer:

Reference the link below for the time frame for your schools Parent Portal.

http://www.alpine.k12.ut.us/publicComponents/newsletters/District%20Documents-SkywardParentSched92109.pdf

The Principal will determine the exact date for the parent portal to go live dependant on reviewing the data online.  Once a go live date is determined, the Secretary will run a Parent Password Letter to be picked up at the school.

What do I do if I find a duplicate student?

Answer:

If there was a duplicate student in the AS400 – it is possible that information was converted into Skyward.  If you find a duplicate student in your school data, e-mail Ruth with Tech Services at :rhuish@alpine.k12.ut.us

Provide the following information:

name of the student
date of birth
date of enrollment,
parents’ names

You will recieve a response informing you which file will be kept and which Tech Services will merge depending on enrollment history, State SSID number assignments, etc.

At that time, you will also be asked to check the student’s schedule in case they need to update it in the kept file, you will then drop the student from your roll for the incorrect file (a drop erases their schedule), add him/her to your school in the correct file with the correct enrollment date.

The date of enrollment is of course key to ensure attendance days are correct.

You may need to inform the student if he/she has had a change in their student number which they use at lunch-time.

Once this process is followed, the data will be merged in the database.
